Leadership Team

Harris County Juvenile Probation Department (HCJPD) provides supervision and services to young people between the ages of 10 and 17 who are under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court. HCJPD is the largest juvenile probation department in Texas with approximately 1,100 employees and over 6,600 young people referred to the department annually.

HCJPD programs and services operate under the direction of the Harris County Juvenile Board.

Jennifer Hunley began her Harris County Juvenile Probation Department career in 1998 as a Delta Boot Camp Probation Officer. 

In 2002, Jennifer was promoted to the role of Casework Supervisor and transferred to Burnett Bayland Reception Center where she also supervised the Assessment Unit and its eventual relocation to the Juvenile Justice Center in downtown Houston. 

In 2012, Jennifer was promoted to Assistant Facility Administrator of Harris County Leadership Academy and later transferred back to Burnett Bayland Reception Center in the same role. In 2020, she was promoted to Facility Administrator of Harris County Leadership Academy.

After becoming certified as a Trust Based Relational Intervention® Practitioner (TBRI) through the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development, Jennifer established the Transformation Team in 2019 for the purpose of training and infusing the department with TBRI practices and principles.

In 2023, Jennifer was appointed to her current role as Director of Residential Services.
