Leadership Team

Harris County Juvenile Probation Department (HCJPD) provides supervision and services to young people between the ages of 10 and 17 who are under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court. HCJPD is the largest juvenile probation department in Texas with approximately 1,100 employees and over 6,600 young people referred to the department annually.

HCJPD programs and services operate under the direction of the Harris County Juvenile Board.

Julie Pruitt, MBA
Director, Education Services
Julie Pruitt taught elementary school for three years in Cy-Fair ISD and two years in Conroe ISD, at which time she transitions from the education field to pursue her master’s degree and work in her family's business.

Julie has worked with the Harris County JJAEP program since July of 2004; first as Human Resources Director for The Brown Schools, who contracted with Harris County Juvenile Probation Department to provide education services for the JJAEP and Excel Academy Charter School, until Harris County Juvenile Probation Department took over both programs in 2005.

In September of 2005, Julie became a principal at one of our Excel Academy Charter School campuses. In 2008, Julie became the Assistant Deputy Director of Administration and Operations with Education Services where she oversaw operation of the JJAEP Excel Academy Charter School. As of 2011, Julie was appointed the Deputy Director of our Education Services Division.
