Leadership Team

Harris County Juvenile Probation Department (HCJPD) provides supervision and services to young people between the ages of 10 and 17 who are under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court. HCJPD is the largest juvenile probation department in Texas with approximately 1,100 employees and over 6,600 young people referred to the department annually.

HCJPD programs and services operate under the direction of the Harris County Juvenile Board.

Janie Moreno, MBA
Director, Budget & Operational Support
Janie Moreno joined Harris County Juvenile Probation Department in 2003 with staff services in the Field Services Division while pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Upon completing her degree, Janie joined the Education Services Division as a Budget Assistant supporting the department’s Excel Academy Charter School and the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program.

Subsequently, Ms. Moreno moved to our Budget Division in the same capacity to eventually become Assistant Deputy Director. In 2015, she became the Deputy Director of what is now our Budget & Operational Support Division.
